Created by/through: Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire (now defunct), for $2,250 in 1926

 

Description: To honour all of the war dead. The statue on top of the memorial was made in Italy in white marble. The bocabec black granite monument, which is emblazoned with those killed in the first world War, was imported from Sweden. There are 162 names from the WWI, along with the brass plaque which displayed the 72 names of veterans from Portage la Prairie who died during WW2 and 1 from the Korean war, (a second name H. Lavallee from St Ambroise was to be added to the Korean war list).
